Spring Has Sprung!
Softball Tournaments Brave the Elements

As we began 2007 spring softball season we've fallen behind on our news and tournament postings - we've been very busy with a number of projects for a better upcoming post season and and even better spring 08 season! So Heres the back log!

Pixie Warm-up Tournament,
Texas City,
March 9-11

I wasn't able to keep up much witht the games sorry - In the 6s - Dickinson Hit & Run took 1st, League City Dirt Divas 2nd, and the South Belt Red Hots rounded out at 3rd. In the 8s the hot Texas Heat grabbed 1st, League City Havoc took 2nd and the La Marque Sluggers set in at 3rd. The ball park was full and busy with close to 30 teams! Congratulations to the winners.

The Umpires Tournament Was rained out all week in Texas City - So in an attempt to save the tourney the games were moved to Santa Fe for the weekend - it was a little chilly but otherwise some great softball prevailed! Winners in the 8s - Santa Fe Dirt Devils 1st, LM Sulggers 2nd, and Santa Fe Lightning 3rd. 10s SF Triple Threat 1st,
SF Rapid
fire 2nd, SF Shock 3rd. 12s TC Starz 1st, SF Fury 2nd, and TC Softball Divas 3rd - Congrats girlsl

Texas City Tournament - 6s & 8s -
April 13-15, 2007
- Now, I was able to get some good pics on day three (see gallery) of this fantastic battle of the elements tournament. Day one left us all a little damp and cold from the constant drizzle and chill all night long, day 2 left us dry, but blown away by high winds and a cold chill...day 3 - was perfect - and it came down to another three elements in the 8s... Thunder - Lightning - Heat! With first place going to the Texas Heat, 2nd League City Thunder and 3rd Santa Fe Lightning. In the 6s Angleton Wildfire takes 1st, LC Dirt Divas 2nd, and Dickinson Hit & Run finishes 3rd! Way to go girls - you do have game!

Some shout outs to some great looking teams - the SF Dirt Devils and their huge bats - wow you kept 'em busy! LM Sluggers - what an outstanding comeback to take the win over the Dirt Devils - what a game!

Hot, Hot, Hot!
End of Summer Slam - August 4-5, 2006

As the headline reads, it was hot, hot, hot at the East Texas Elite and East Texas Thunder End of Summer Slam in Conroe,
August 4 - 5, 2006
. Not having much of an opportunity to sit and watch 12s, and 14s play ball, it was certainly an experience - and a pleasure - to see the intensity on the ball field that was at this tourney, there were some pretty awesome games going on that were equally exciting. Participants included Madisonville Pony Express, NW Houston Krazzies, Caldwell Silver Stars, Barbers Hill Elite, East Texas Elite, East Texas Thunder, Houston Hot Sticks, and the College Station Tigers. While all teams put forth a tremendous effort playing in the extreme heat, it was our host teams that prevailed the champs! Softball-Rocks would like to thank Ronnie Cannon and the East Texas Elite along with Katy McDaniels and the East Texas Thunder for inviting us out! Thanks to all of you who purchased our T's we so appreciate the business, and look forward to a new season!

We certainly look forward to another visit in the future. We saw some really good teams out there - girls keep up the good work! And to the East Texas Elite - Good Luck at State!

Pixie NIT

Softball was surely rockin' at the 2006 Texas City Pixie National Invitational Tournament
June 7th - 11th.

With teams from Colorado City, Deep Water, Saltwater, Abilene and more, the ballfield was certainly a battlefield to some tough little ballplayers. There was even a battle with with a swarm of bees! With all that said and done we would like to praise all the kids who put their hearts, bats, and gloves into this tournament - you are all winners!

In the 6U division Pearland Power slid right in to first place, with Nederland Fusion just taking second. TC Explosion put up a heck of a fight, but fell to third, with the Galveston Herricanes following in fourth.

In the 8U division..... First place congratulations go to the South Houston Diamond Divas - you girls looked great out there! What a team! Dickinson Red Hots took the runner up spot with the Galveston Herricanes following in third. I would also like to say that the 8U deer park team looked pretty good out there as well - good job to all of the players who braved the heat, and the mosquitos!
